Facial Trauma Surgery

Facial Trauma Surgery

Facial trauma includes:

  • Facial or oral lacerations
  • Fractured bones

  • Knocked out teeth

Facial trauma may result from incidents such as

  • Car accidents
  • Falls
  • Sports injuries
  • Industrial work accidents
  • Violent attack

In the event of skin lacerations sutures are often sufficient to repair wounds. In the event of bone fractures surgery may be required. Since our nose, chin and front teeth are very prominent in our facial structure, they commonly become injured during facial trauma. If you break a tooth as a result of a sporting accident you may need a tooth extraction or implant.

Patients should consult with an experienced New York City Maxillofacial Oral Surgeon to learn about the best methods to repair and rehabilitate your facial trauma injuries. Our Board Certified Oral Surgeons provide the proper treatment of facial injuries and is well versed in emergency care, acute treatment, long-term reconstruction, and rehabilitation.
